Biography

Joni Adahl grew-up surrounded by golden wheat fields on a farm in North Dakota. Her mother, a teacher, and her father, a farmer. She is of Norwegian and Swedish descent. Adahl earned her Master's Degree in Architecture and Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Design at NDSU. It was while working at a top Hospitality Architecture firm in Florida, she felt God put upon her heart to bring stories to life through film.

 

Norwegians will have seen her spirit in Season 7 of Alt for Norge (Norway). An award-winning Television show where Norwegian Americans compete to meet their relatives.

 

Adahl received awards and nominations in Permafrost by 701 Productions, NM, for Best Supporting Actress, Silver Award, Independent Shorts Awards, Los Angeles, CA, USA, Best Supporting Actress, February Award, IndieX Film Festival, Los Angeles, CA, USA, Best Supporting Actress, Award of Merit, Depth of Field International Film Festival Competition, USA, Nominated Best Supporting Actress, Indie Short Film Fest, Los Angeles, CA, USA.

As Writer and Director on the short, "Charismata." The short has been in 11 International Festivals, receiving "Director's Choice" at the San Diego Christian Film Festival and other Nominations for Best Short Drama, Best Score, Best Sound, and Best Actress for this inspirational story.

Adahl grew-up playing sports. She enjoys softball, open-water swimming, kayaking, down-hill skiing and spending time outdoors with family.
